Alex Forrest Boyette, a beloved father and dedicated member of the Greenwood community, passed away peacefully on August 18, 2026, at the age of 76. He was born on January 12, 1950, in Clarke County where he was raised. He later moved to Beatrice where he spent much of his life before returning to his roots in Clarke County. Alex cultivated a life filled with love, hard work, and a deep appreciation for the outdoors.
Alex cherished his role as a family man. His love extended not only to his children but also to his grandchildren, with whom he shared countless joyful moments. Known for his generous spirit, Alex was always ready to lend a helping hand to anyone in need. His strong work ethic was evident throughout his career as an operator at Scotch Lumber, where he was respected by colleagues for his dedication and commitment.
In addition to his work, Alex had a deep passion for hunting and fishing, often spending weekends in nature. He was also a devoted fan of Auburn football, cheering enthusiastically for his team.
Alex was preceded in death by his father, John William Boyette, Sr.; mother, Ida Mae Baugh Boyette; brothers, Randy Clay Boyette and John William Boyette, Jr.; sisters, Peggy Mae Boyette Black and Genise Johnson.
He is survived by his brother, Samuel (Peggy) Boyette; daughter, Vonna (Danny) Gates; sons, Christopher (Veronica) Boyette, Jeremy (Caroline) Boyette, and James Boyette; grandchildren, Maddie Boyette, Grace Boyette, Cole Boyette, Alexis Boyette, Anna Kate Boyette, John William Boyette, and Davis Boyette; numerous nieces and nephews that loved him dearly and that he love so very much; as well as a host of extended family and dear friends.
A memorial service to celebrate Alex's life will be conducted at Lathan Funeral Home, Grove Hill on Monday, August 25, 2026, at 11:00 AM with visitation beginning one hour prior. Friends and family are invited to join in honoring his memory and reflecting on the many lives he touched.
Alex Forrest Boyette will be deeply missed by all who knew him, leaving behind a legacy of love, generosity, and unwavering dedication to family.
