Anita Long

Anita Grace Lunsford Long, 65, passed away Thursday, March 31, 2016, after battling cancer for four years.


She was born February 21, 1951, in New Brockton, Alabama. She was a teacher for over thirty years at New Brockton Elementary, Wagarville Elementary, and Clarke Prep School. She was a devoted wife, a loving mother, a caring teacher, and a published writer. She was a member of Bashan Baptist Church.


She was survived by her husband Marcus Long, her daughters Epsie Long, Tindol Long, and Beth Long of Grove Hill, Alabama; her brothers Walter Lunsford (New Brockton, AL), Lomax Lunsford (Monroeville, AL), and James Lunsford (New Brockton, AL); and her mother-in-law Geneva Long.


She was preceded in death by her parents Shelby and Grace Lunsford and her father-in-law Robert Long.


The service will be held at Grove Hill Baptist Church on Monday, April 4, 2016, with visitation at 1 p.m. and the funeral at 3:30 p.m., the graveside service following.
