Annie Pierson

February 27, 1935 — January 19, 2019

Annie Jones Pierson, born February 27, 1935, died at her home in the Hobson Community at 1:08 a.m. January 19, 2019. She was a member of Pine Level Baptist Church in Hobson and a member of the Eastern Star in Tunkhannock, PA. She made a career in cosmetology and social work and retired from Washington County Nursing Home in 1989. She will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother.

She is preceded in death by her husband of 57 years David Lesher Pierson; oldest grandson, Jared David Strong; parents, Martin and Minnie Everett Jones; sister, Frances Jones Felton; brothers, Joshua Thomas Jones, Curney Rudolph Jones, Vernie Rodell Jones, James Martin Jones Jr., James Homer Jones, Ivey Sidney Jones, and Grady Jones.

She is survived by son, Martin Erwin (Debbie) Pierson; daughter, Karen Pierson (John) Clanton; granddaughters, Selina (Matt) Kirksey, Scherri (Walt) Nader, and Whitney (Steven) Standefer; grandson, Wesley E. (Savanna) Strong; great grandchildren, Trey Nader, Walker Bumpers, Andre Bumpers, Sidney Nader, Hannah Bumpers, Salena Strong, Jared David Strong Jr., Carson Earl Strong, Johnathan David Strong, Hunter Kirksey and Easton Kirksey.

Funeral service will be held Monday, January 21, 2019 at Pine Level Baptist Church at 2:00 pm with Pastor Ron Butler officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow in Jones Beech Cemetery, Hobson. Condolences may be left at www.lathanfuneralhome.com.

Pallbearers will be Walt Nader, Wesley Strong, Matt Kirksey, Easton Kirksey, Trey Nader, Walker Bumpers and Steven Standefer.
