Arnold Jones

Arnold Rayford Jones passed away peacefully at his home on Perrys Chapel Rd in Alma, AL on Sunday, February 5, 2023. Arnold lived a long life of 92 years. He was born in Clarke County AL to Marvin and Minta Jones on October 3, 1930. Arnold was a long time employee at Courtaulds Fibers where he retired in 1992. Arnold was married to Ella Mae Jones for 68 lovely years.
Arnold was proceeded in death by his father Marvin Jones, mother Minta Jones, son Kenneth Jones, and daughter Charlene Jones. He is survived by his loving wife Ella Mae Jones, his sons Larry Jones and Michael Jones, his grand children, great grand children, his great great grandson, sister Vada Jones Stokley, and numerous close family members.
In addition to being a devoted father and husband, Arnold enjoyed a simple, slow paced life. He enjoyed hunting, gardening, front porch sitting, and afternoons drinking coffee with his wife and Helen and Jackie Sanborn. Arnold leaves an abundance of joyful memories with his family and friends along with a legacy of old fashioned hard work, perseverance, and frugality.
A graveside service will be held on Thursday, February 9, 2023 at 10:00 am at Jones Chapel Cemetery near Perry's Chapel.
