Bertie Lee Schultz Goodwin, 99, of Grove Hill, passed away on Saturday, January 12, 2019 at Grove Hill Memorial Hospital. She was born September 29, 1919 to W.A. and Lucy West Schultz. An ordained minister with the Assembly of God Church, she had pastored churches in Castleberry and St. Stephens. She had been active in her own home church, Magnolia Assembly of God in Grove Hill where she taught Sunday School for many years. She has been employed as a seamstress and in her later years, she worked as an elder caregiver.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Marvin Goodwin; daughter, Rachel Ann Wright; and siblings, William Sidney Schultz, D.C. Schultz, Theodore Roosevelt "Ted" Schultz, Margie Schultz Wimberly, Marie Schultz Moore, Irene Schultz Kinman, Alma Schultz Sims, W.A. Schultz, Jr., Douglas Edward Schultz, Gloria Schultz and Winnie Ree Schultz Ross.

She is survived by her brother, Horace (Lorraine) Schultz; two grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; one great, great-grandchild; numerous nieces nephews, church family, other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. on Thursday, January 17, 2019 at Magnolia Assembly of God Church in Grove Hill with the Revs. Billy Cardwell and Jonathan Hudson officiating. Visitation will begin one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow at Magnolia Cemetery with Lathan Funeral Home directing.

Pallbearers will be Timothy Bates, Mathew W. Benefield, John Michael Henderson, Harold Moore, Tommy Schultz, Corey West and Jeffrey West.
