Bobby Squires, a beloved father, friend, and storyteller, peacefully passed away on January 30, 2026, at the Washington County Nursing Home in Chatom. Born on August 11, 1942, Bobby spent most of his life in Grove Hill, Alabama. He was a constant source of joy, always greeting everyone with a smile and a story that could light up the room.
Deeply passionate about Alabama football, Bobby was never shy about sharing his enthusiasm for the game. His years in construction as an Instrument Surveyor were filled with hard work, but he found equal joy in his earlier roles as a Clarke County Deputy Sheriff and a coach at Grove Hill Academy-both of which he cherished greatly.
Bobby had a special place in his heart for his family: his son, Bobby Dale Squires (Pat); his daughter, Karen Elmore (Benji); his beloved grandchildren, who were his pride and joy, Christopher Squires (Lauren), Kayla Powell (Cody), Bryant Elmore (Paige) and Will Elmore (Brittany). He was also blessed with 6 great-grandchildren: Walker Dale, Lottie, Etta, Bo Morgan, Doc and Jude. Bobby loved spending time with his family and friends, and his laughter will be sorely missed by all who knew him.
Bobby was preceded in death by the love of his life, Sandra Elizabeth Squires and his mother, Katie Squires, as well as several family members who were dearly loved and extremely important to him.
A graveside service will be held for Bobby on February 4, 2026, at 10:30 am, at Magnolia Lawn Cemetery with Bro. Randy Boone officiating.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Clarke County Animal Shelter in Memory of Bobby Squires.
We invite all who knew Bobby to come share their memories and celebrate the wonderful life he lived. His spirit will continue to shine in our hearts.Bottom of Form
