Obituary

Bonnie Jean Harrison, born June 1, 1939, passed away at the age of 87 on October 6, 2026. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, faithful servant of God, and a beloved friend to many.
Bonnie graduated from Jackson High School, where she was head cheerleader. Her school years reflected the outgoing, spirited, and joyful personality that would remain a part of who she was throughout her life. Bonnie was a Godly woman who loved her family unconditionally and with her whole being. Her faith was the center of her life, and she found great joy in serving the Lord and others. She was a long-time member of Leroy Baptist Church, where she sang in the choir, taught Sunday School in the Children's Department, and cherished her church family.
Music was one of Bonnie's greatest joys. She loved to sing and spent many years singing in a gospel group at different churches for singings or after church on Sunday afternoons. She also shared her gift of music by playing both the piano and organ. Over the years, she was honored to play for numerous weddings, creating beautiful memories for countless families.
Bonnie was also a proud member of the Daughters of the Confederacy and took great pride in
her heritage and community.
For 30 years, Bonnie delivered mail in Jackson. She enjoyed seeing and visiting with people along her route and was a familiar and friendly face throughout the community.
Bonnie loved to travel and enjoyed seeing new places and making memories along the way. She visited all 48 of the continental United States, as well as Alaska and Canada. Many of these adventures were shared with close friends, making her travels even more special. Her love of travel gave her countless stories and cherished memories that she carried with her throughout her life.
Bonnie was married to the love of her life, Billy Wayne Harrison, for 67 years. Together they built a life centered around faith, family, and love. They were blessed with three children, three grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren.
She is survived by her devoted husband, Billy Harrison; her children, Wayne Harrison and his wife, Lisa Harrison; Timothy (Timbo) Harrison and his wife, Cindy Harrison; and Ginger Harrison; her grandchildren Jacob Harrison and his wife Perry Harrison, Ryne Harrison and his wife Elisabeth Harrison; and her great-grandchildren, Chase Harrison, Chloe Harrison, and Addie Grace Harrison.
Bonnie was preceded in death by her beloved grandson, Blake Harrison and her parents, Marvin & Ethel Brunson. Bonnie leaves behind a legacy of faith, music, service, adventure, and unconditional love. She gave generously of herself - to her family, her church, her community, and to all those blessed to know her. Her gentle spirit, love of God, beautiful voice, love of travel, and gift of bringing people together will be deeply missed.
Though her absence leaves an empty place in the hearts of those who loved her, her family takes comfort in knowing that her life was a testimony to her faith and that her love and legacywill live on through the generations she cherished so deeply.
"Her children arise up and call her blessed; her husband also, and he praises her." Proverbs 31:28
Pallbearers will be Jacob Harrison, Chase Harrison, Ryne Harrison, Corey Harrison, Russ Jones, David Peebles, Bobby Brooks. Honorary Pallbearers are Joe Pace Palmer's Sunday School Class.
