Bonnie Loper

Bonnie Loper, 80, of Chatom, passed away, Sunday, July 10, 2022, at her residence. She was born in Millry on Sunday, November 16, 1941. A faithful member of Spring Hill Baptist Church in Millry, she was a longtime member of the choir. She had been employed in a number of roles at various Chatom businesses, including LPN and insurance manager at the Chatom Clinic, secretary for a school and insurance agency as well as the Soil Conservation Office. She adored her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She also enjoyed travel and reading.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Avis Benford Taylor, Zillie Stokley Taylor and husband, Raleigh Loper.
She is survived by her children, Brent (Pamela) Loper, Kimberly L. (Larry) Hubbard; grandchildren, Zach (Sarah) Hubbard, Hannah (Nick) Waters, John (Kristen) Hubbard, Samantha (Andrew Brannon) Loper, Sarah Loper; great-grandchildren, Sadie Hubbard, Noel Waters, Molly Hubbard, Sam Waters, Madalyn Hubbard, Benjamin Waters, Colt Hubbard; siblings, Gerald (Kathryn) Taylor, Harold (Edna) Taylor, Colleen Atchison, Sylvia Broughton, Charlotte (Ralph) Adams and numerous other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, July 13, 2022, at Spring Hill Baptist Church with the Revs. Travis Agee and Jerry Roberson officiating. Visitation will begin one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow the service in the church cemetery with Lathan Funeral Home directing.
Pallbearers will be Joshua Adams, Justin Adams, Robby Jenkins, Ralph Morris, Greg Roberts and Clint Wofford.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Spring Hill Baptist Church Cemetery Fund.
