Carole Garrett Coleman, a beloved wife, cherished mother, sister and friend passed away peacefully on May 11, 2026, at the age of 88. Born on December 30, 1937, in Jackson, Alabama, Carole touched the lives of many with her warmth and compassion.
A woman of many talents, Carole had an unwavering love for her family and friends. She worked in the dental industry for many years mostly for Dr Bobby Beard and Dr Glen Bridges. She was a passionate gardener, cultivating beautiful plants and flowers that brought joy to her home and those around her. Carole enjoyed many hours of china painting, with her mother and others, making beautiful pieces that will delight many for years to come.
Carole was a great cook, always loved to see others enjoy her meals and desserts, much to the delight of both family and friends. She always had a generous spirit, always making time for family gatherings filled with love and laughter.
Carole is survived by her daughter, Amy Coleman, and siblings, Judie Garrett Ratliff, Kathy Garrett (Martin) Coffman, and Mike (Janis) Garrett, as well as numerous nieces and nephews, daughter in law, Lynne Coleman, and grandchildren, Rachel (Tom) Recore and Jonathan (Lindsey) Ladner, and 5 great grandchildren.
Carole was preceded in death by her parents, Aubrey and Rosanna Garrett, her husband of 59 years, Tommy Coleman and her son, Tom Coleman along with her brother, Billy Garrett.
A funeral service will be held on Friday, May 15, 2026, at Lathan Funeral Home, Jackson, AL at 12:00 PM with a visitation an hour prior with Dr. Martin Coffman officiating. In a final farewell, interment will take place at Trinity Memorial Gardens.
Pallbearers will be Maury Dumas, Clay Dumas, Jacob Garrett, Gene Reynolds, Randy Elmore, and Drew Outlaw.
As we remember Carole, we celebrate a life filled with love, laughter, and adventure. She will be deeply missed but forever cherished in the hearts of all who knew her.
