Carolyn Powell

Carolyn Godwin Powell, 74, died Thursday, March 23, 2023. Carolyn was born December 12, 1948 in Mexia. She was an amazing woman who loved to crochet and share the fruits of her labor. Carolyn loved spending time with her grandchildren and caring for her dear 96-year-old mother.
Carolyn is survived by her mother, Dorothy Howell; daughter, Nikki (Jeremy) Parden; brother, Larry Godwin; grandchildren, Branson (Sarah) Linder, Ally Linder, Whitnie Parden, Ty Parden, and Tenlee Parden; great grandchildren, Tessa Linder and Tatum Linder as well as numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
She is preceded in death by her father, O. D. Godwin and her loving companion, Phillip Harrell.
Services will be held on Wednesday, March 29, 2023. Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. at Lathan Funeral Home, Jackson. Graveside service will be held at 1:00 p.m. at Mexia Cemetery, Frisco City, AL with Bro. David Curtis and Bro. Warren Huggins officiating.
