Catherine Knight

Catherine Knight, 91, of Grove Hill, passed away Saturday, May 29, 2021 at Providence Hospital in Mobile. She was born March 8, 1930 in Chilton to Leonard Morgan and Ida Mae Morgan. A lifelong homemaker, she and her husband Leonard Knight made their home in Chilton from 1947 until 1955 when they moved their family to Axis where she became a member of Axis Baptist Church. She enjoyed cooking, baking, cleaning and canning vegetables from her garden. After raising their family and Leonard's retirement from Courtaulds, they moved to Grove Hill.
She was preceded in death by her father, Leonard Morgan, Mother, Ida Mae Wilson, stepfather who raised her as his own, Woodrow Wilson and husband of 67 years, Leonard Knight.
She is survived by her children, Patsy (Lamar) Hicks of Axis, Jimmy (Brenda) Knight of Grove Hill; grandson, Rex (Rachael) Knight; great-grandchildren, Lauren Knight, Libby Knight, Jon Knight, all of Chance; siblings, Betty M. Howell of Jackson, Shirley (Frank) Hickman, L.J. Wilson, both of Grove Hill and numerous other relatives and friends.
A graveside service will be conducted at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, June 2, 2021 at Trinity Memorial Gardens in Jackson with Dr. Kyle Routzahn officiating and Lathan Funeral Home directing.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her honor to St. Jude's Children's Hospital.
