Daniel Glenn Peterson

June 8, 1956 — March 24, 2026

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Daniel Glenn Peterson, who left this world on March 24, 2026, at the age of 69. Dan was born on June 8, 1956, to his parents Orville Willis Peterson and Merry Christmas Dahl Peterson in Watertown, South Dakota. And spent the last 28 years of his life in Alabama, where he created lasting memories and touched the lives of many.

Dan was a man of simple pleasures and cherished moments. As a child and throughout his high school years, he enjoyed fishing and loved playing foosball with friends. His adventurous spirit led him to explore the world of metal detecting, a hobby that sparked his passion for collecting coins. Among his many talents, he was also an accomplished pool player, delighting in friendly competition.

Each year, Dan would cultivate a vibrant garden, nurturing the earth with care, and finding joy in the beauty of nature. He could often be found on his porch, watching NASCAR races or cheering on Alabama football, relishing in the joy of these pastimes.

Dan is survived by his loving wife, Karen Peterson, his two sons, Derek Peterson and Gregory Fischer, his brother Kevin Peterson, his sisters, Angela "Angel" LeBlanc and Anita "Cookie" Stafford, as well as his six beloved grandchildren: Kaitlyn, Joshua, Lucas, Ethan, Abigail, and Jeremy Peterson. His legacy will live on through countless nieces, nephews, and dear friends who were fortunate enough to know him.

Dan is preceded in death by his parents, his brother Orville "Bill" Peterson, and his sister Marianne Atchison.

Dan's life will be honored and celebrated by all who loved him, as we gather to reflect on the joy and fond memories he brought into our lives.

In this time of sorrow, we find solace in the memories we shared with Dan. May he rest in peace, forever remembered by those he leaves behind.
