Danny Perugini

Danny Anthony Perugini, 79, of Jackson, passed away Wednesday, April 21, 2021 at his residence surrounded by family. He was born in Galveston, TX on November 1, 1941 to Angelo Perugini and Mildred Ray Perugini. A proud career veteran of the U.S. Navy, he took part in several memorable missions, including the recovery of the space capsule after the Apollo mission in 1969. He was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Grove Hill. He enjoyed visiting the Mississippi casinos, traveling and spending time with his family.
He was preceded in death by his parents and first wife, Barbara "Bunnie" Perugini.
He is survived by his wife, Rebecca Stringer Perugini; children, Dawn Marie (Thomas) Hayden, Michelle Skibo; grandchildren, Cameron Lee (Sara) Moss, Hunter Skibo, Hailey Skibo, Claire Hayden, Chase Hayden; great-grandson, Beckett Moss; step-children, Prentice (Marthon) Stringer, Jenny (Walt) Pope, Simeon (Melanie) Stringer, Annie (Charlie) Latham; nine step-grandchildren and numerous other relatives and friends.
A memorial service will be conducted at 3 p.m. on Tuesday, April 27, 2021 at Lathan Funeral Home in Jackson with the Rev. Travis Burnett officiating. The family will visit with friends after the service. A private interment service will be conducted in Galveston, TX at a later time.
