Donald Aubrey
Moseley
May 11, 1943 – June 12, 2026
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Donald Aubrey Moseley, a cherished husband, father, and friend, who left us peacefully on June 12, 2026, at the age of 83. Born on May 11, 1943, Aubrey spent his early years in St. Stephens, where he developed a lifelong love for history and the outdoors, shaping the man he would become.
Aubrey was a meticulous and detail-oriented individual, known for his practical approach to life-always preferring to fix things rather than replace them. His passion for learning led him to earn a Bachelor's Degree, and he dedicated several years to teaching before pursuing a successful career as a self-employed individual.
In his youth, Aubrey was an accomplished track athlete at Leroy High School and Livingston State, and he carried that spirit of perseverance into adulthood. He found joy in the tranquility of nature, often spending weekends hunting deer or turkey and fishing with his beloved son. A true homebody, he cherished the moments spent with his family, always prioritizing their well-being and happiness above all else.
Aubrey was also a devoted history buff, spending countless hours reading and studying, a passion he joyfully passed on to his son. He devoted time to pen his thoughts in the hope that they might one day resonate with others.
Aubrey is survived by his loving wife, Carolyn Moseley, who remained his partner and confidante throughout their life together; his beloved children, Jonathan Moseley and Leah Moseley Papp (Michael); brother, Bobby Moseley (Paula); sister, Nellie Johnson; sister-in-law, Peggy Crager (Jody); as well as many friends and other relatives. His family will deeply miss his unwavering love and protection.
Aubrey is preceded in death by his parents, Eddie and Irma Jean Moseley; and brother, Melvin Moseley.
Graveside services to honor Aubrey's life will be held on June 20, 2026, at 11:00 AM at Jones-Beech Cemetery. Family and friends are invited to join us in celebrating the life of a remarkable man who touched the hearts of many. We ask that all who knew Aubrey come together to share their fond memories and say their final goodbyes.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Hobson Assembly of God, C/O Ginger Singleton, 681 County Road 28, Chatom, AL 36518 or Jones-Beech Cemetery, 415 County Road 28, Chatom, AL 36518.
Rest in peace, Donald Aubrey Moseley; your legacy of love and wisdom will live on in the hearts of all who knew you.
