Ella Mae
Jones
May 23, 1937 — Jun 21, 2026
Ella Mae (Overstreet) Jones, age 89, passed away peacefully at her home on Perrys Chapel Rd in Alma, Al on Sunday, June 21, 2026.
She was a true down-home country woman whose life reflected strength, humility, and deep devotion to her family. Born and raised with simple values and a strong work ethic, she carried those roots with her throughout her life and shared them with everyone blessed to know her.
Ella Mae was preceded in death by her father Pickens Aaron Overstreet, mother Vera Mae Finney Overstreet, beloved husband, Arnold Jones, as well as her sons, Kenneth Jones and Larry Jones, and her daughter, Charlene Jones. We take comfort in knowing they are now reunited.
She is survived by her son Michael Jones, her grandchildren, great grandchildren, and her great-great grandsons, sisters Helen Sanborn and Inez Wagoner, and numerous close family members, all of whom she loved dearly. Her family was her greatest joy, and her home was always a place of warmth, comfort, and unconditional love.
She enjoyed the simple things in life-time on the porch, tending to her home, good home-cooked meals, and spending time with family. She had a quiet strength, a giving heart, and a faith that carried her through every season of life.
Though she will be deeply missed, her legacy lives on in the family she raised, the love she gave, and the values she instilled.
She will be forever loved, forever missed, and never forgotten.
A graveside service will be held Wednesday, June 24, 2026 at 10:00 a.m. at Jones Chapel Methodist Protestant Cemetery.
