Eugene Howard

Eugene “Jr. Jeep” Howard, 90, of Tibbie, passed away Tuesday, November 5, 2019 in Jackson. He was born September 15, 1929 to Eugene and Lena Parnell Howard. A self-employed carpenter, he enjoyed fishing and hunting. A devoted father and grandfather, he was affectionately known as “Pawpaw Howard” to his grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Thomas Eugene Howard and siblings, Lemon “Dicky” Howard, Charles Billy Howard, Bessie Singleton, Fanny Whatley and Jeannie Howard.

He is survived by his children, Vickie (James) Tucker, Charlotte Jean Williams; grandchildren, Johnathan Tucker, Stephanie Garcia, James “Punkin” Tucker, Thomas Howard, Jr. Christopher Watson, Kimberly Williams, Catherine Carpenter, Austin Williams; sisters, Evelyn Tucker, Betty Presnall, Shirley Bazor and numerous other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. on Friday, November 8, 2019 at Lathan Funeral Home in Chatom with Bro. Darren Williams officiating. Visitation will begin one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow the service at Fairhope Baptist Cemetery in Tibbie with Lathan Funeral Home directing.

Pallbearers will be Johnathan Tucker, James Tucker, Jr., Damon Kirby Garcia, Ethan Lane Tucker, Dawson Kirby Garcia and Thomas Howard, Jr.

Honorary pallbearers will be Austin Williams, Johnathan Tucker, Jr. and Dalton Tyler Garcia.
