Francis Glenn, Sr.

Francis Everette "Mutt" Glenn, Sr., 95, of Whatley, AL passed away March 22, 2018 at his residence. He was born September 18, 1922 to Bennie Marvin Glenn and Lois Tarleton Glenn.

He enjoyed a long career as a logging contractor and cattle farmer.
He was also an avid vegetable gardener who took great pride in sharing the bounty of his harvest with friends in the community. In addition, he also enjoyed managing the family's timberland and hunting and fishing with his family and friends.

He was a member of Amity Baptist Church where he served as a Deacon for many years.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Tommie Lee Glenn, brother Henry Marvin Glenn and sister Bennie Ross.

He is survived by his children, Madelyn (Joe) Glenn Kelly, Francis E. Glenn, Jr., Janice (Pat) Glenn Pollan, Susan (Fred) Glenn Wilson; 12 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be conducted at 4 p.m. on Monday, March 26, 2018 at Lathan Funeral Home in Jackson with Fred Wilson, Rev. Percy Clark and Rev. Eddie Pugh officiating. Visitation will begin at 2:30 p.m. Burial will take place at Amity Baptist Church at 2214 Old Line Road with Lathan Funeral Home directing.

Active pallbearers are Jonathan Kelly, Jeff Kelly, Brian Gregg, Wade Burcham, Jason Glenn, Bo Norman and Tom Drolet.

Honorary pallbearers are Charles Knowles, John Coleman Moore, Robert Edward Garrick, James "Winky" Hicks, Charles Hicks and Rodney Turner.

In lieu of flowers, contributions in memory of Mutt may be made to:
