Gladys Dearmon

Gladys Estell Taylor Dearmon, 94, of Jackson, passed away Friday, May 15, 2020 at Jackson Health Care Facility. She was born in Reform on March 13, 1926 to Hosea B. Taylor and Etta Nichols Taylor. A charter member of Forest Avenue Baptist Church, she enjoyed camping and gardening which permitted her to share the foods she produced with her many friends and neighbors.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Roderick H. Dearmon; grandson, Terry Middleton; son-in-law, Russell Wilson and twelve siblings.

She is survived by her children, Janice Wilson, Linda (Robert) Chambless, Michael (Kathy) Dearmon; grandchildren, Randall Wilson, Russell (Laurie) Wilson, Deborah (Mike) Lamey, Cindy Redmon, Jamie (Jim) Kerkoff, Kasey (Brian) Love; eleven great-grandchildren; five great-great grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

A graveside service will be conducted at 11:15 on Tuesday, May 19, 2020 at Trinity Memorial Gardens in Jackson with the Rev. Ed Howard officiating and Lathan Funeral Home directing. Visitation will begin at 10 a.m. at Lathan Funeral Home in Jackson.

Pallbearers will be Terry Horton, Clarence Carpenter, Scott Faust, Lloyd Harvison, Doug Suttle and Mike Taylor.

Honorary pallbearers will be members of Forest Avenue Baptist Church.

In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to Forest Avenue Baptist Church.
