Obituary

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Gloria Holston, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and friend, who left us on September 9, 2026, at the age of 76. Born on May 12, 1950, to parents Henry and Mary Stoker Goldman, Diane grew up in Saint Stephens. She lived a life filled with love, compassion, and dedication to her family and community.

Together with her devoted husband, Tim, they created a warm and nurturing home, where her love for cooking was evident to all. Diane was known for her comforting chicken noodle soup and decadent brownies, bringing joy to her family during times of illness or need; as well as the occasional birthday cake made with love. Her heart was especially full during family gatherings and holidays, where her enthusiasm for Alabama Crimson Tide football and the Leroy Bears shone brightly. A proud graduate of Leroy High School Class of 1968, Gloria was an enthusiastic cheerleader and later attended the University of South Alabama and Patrick Henry Community College.

Her greatest joy came from her grandchildren. Diane cheered loudly at countless games, supporting each of their passions in a wide variety of sports and the arts. She was eagerly anticipating the arrival of her first great-granddaughter, who will carry the middle name Diane in her honor.

Diane is survived by her beloved husband, Tim Holston; daughter, Nikki Sellers (Billy); sons, Joey Holston and Jason Holston; grandchildren, Tyler Holston, Jordan Sellers, Logan Sellers (Abby), Jace Sellers, Braeden Holston, Bryson Holston, Brody Holston, Heather Holston, Hunter Holston; great granddaughter, Charlotte Diane Sellers; siblings, Steve Goldman, Elaine Bologna, Kathy Goldman, and Rhonda Goldman; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and dear friends.

She is preceded in death by her father, Henry Ford Goldman; mother, Mary Goldman; and brother, Buddy Goldman.

As we remember her, we invite family and friends to join us for a visitation on September 14, 2026, at St. Stephens United Methodist Church, beginning at 10:00 AM. A funeral service will follow at 11:00 AM with Rev. Chris Walker officiating and Lathan Funeral Home directing, leading to a graveside service at the Goldman Family Cemetery, where she will be laid to rest. Gloria's warmth, kindness, and infectious spirit will be deeply missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing her.

Pallbearers will be Tyler Holston. Jordan Sellers. Logan Sellers, Jace Sellers, Brody Holston, Bryson Holston, Hunter Holston, Billy Sellers, and Ted King.
