Hybard Maurice Paul, 71, of Grove Hill passed away at his home on Friday, February 6, 2026, with his loving family by his side. Maurice was born in Grove Hill on February 17, 1954, to parents Hybard and Melvia Gilchrist Paul. He proudly served his country while enlisted in the Alabama National Guard. Throughout Maurices' career in the Timber Industry, he did just about everything, he was well known for his Dozier expertise- if you needed a road made or repaired, he was your man to do it. He enjoyed people, he loved to cook and entertain his family and friends. His cornbread was really something special. There was always an opportunity for him to gather with family and friends during Alabama football season. But what mattered to him most was the love he had for his daughters and grandchildren, they were his world.
Preceded in death by his father Hybard Delano Paul, and brother Billy Alvin Paul.
Survived by his daughters; Peyton Powell Brown (Anthony), Carmen Paul, Lindsay Oates (Justin), Catherine Paul (Haolei), and Lillian Paul. Grandchildren; Leighton Powell Parrish (Austin), Maurice Paul Powell, Jaclynn Blair Powell, John Carter Davis, Jack Colby Davis, Christian Delano Paul-Oates, Anderson Slade Marks. Great-grandchildren; Sarah Jane Parrish, and Bennett Blair Parrish. His mother, Melvia Gilchrist Paul, sister, Diane Dingman, and many other extended family members and loving friends.
