Jack Chancey

Jack Gene Chancey, 80, of Grove Hill, passed away Tuesday, July 21, 2020 at Jackson Health Care Facility. He was born in Grove Hill on January 12, 1940 to Jack and Annie Walker Chancey. He had been employed as a fork-lift operator with Scotch Lumber Company prior to retirement and was a member of Mt. Gilead Baptist Church. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, wrestling and spending time with his grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Sarah Agnes Hudson Chancey and siblings, Trula Mae Owens, Lincey Bailey and Earl Grey Chancey.

He is survived by his children, James (Tammy) Chancey, April (Bobby) Tillman, Tena (Dustin) Jackson; grandchildren, Morgan (Matt) Benefield, Mylisa (A.J.) Motes, Jaybird (Krista) Chancey, Colby Chancey, Aaron (Shelby) Tillman, Daniel (Emmie) Tillman, Andrew Tillman, Annie Chancey, Hunter Jackson; great-grandchildren, Harley Benefield, Emmafaye Motes, Sarah Motes, Kasey Chancey, Addison Harrison; siblings, Margaret Kelley, Shirley Robinson, Mary Moore, Jimmy (Sandra) Chancey; numerous other relatives and friends.

A graveside service will be conducted at 10 a.m. on Saturday, July 25, 2020 at Ulcanush Baptist Cemetery in Coffeeville with the Rev. Jonathan Hudson officiating and Lathan Funeral Home directing.

Pallbearers will be Colby Chancey, James Chancey, Jaybird Chancey, Hunter Jackson, Aaron Tillman and Andrew Tillman.
