James S. Baugh Sr.

James Sydney Baugh Sr., 84, of Grove Hill, passed away at his home on October 1, 2025. He was born on May 14, 1941, to parents Albert S. and Lonnie Mae West Baugh. Mr. Baugh worked in the grove hill area driving semi's in the timber business and most recently for the Clark County Road and Bridge Department. He loved to go fishing whenever he could and also enjoyed firearms, baseball, and watching Gunsmoke. He was a member of Bassetts Creek Baptist Church.

Preceded in death by his wife Jeanette E. Walker Baugh, his parents, son James Sidney Baugh Jr., brother Albert Russell Baugh.

Survived by his daughters, Donna Jo (George) Curry, of Tibbie, and Sherry Payne, of Fulton, his grandchildren, Amy Christine Curry, of Tibbie, Tammy (Bradley) Goodman, of Dixon Mills, and Dalton Dwayne Curry, of Frankville. Great grandchildren Zoey Lee Curry-Parnell, Bradyn Bradley Curry-Goodman, Nevaeh Rayne McLeod, Hunter Brice Goodman, and Kaylie Dawn Curry, and Remington James goodman. His brother, Ralph (Brenda) Baugh, of Grove Hill, and many nieces, nephews, and loving friends.

Pallbearers will be Bradley Goodman, Tony Baugh, Vester Reed, Jayme Ballard, Edward Hutchinson, and Stephen Reed. Honorary pallbearers will be Ethan Knight, Braydyn Goodman, and Michael Gibson.

Funeral services will be at Lathan Funeral Home in Grove Hill on Friday, October 3, 2025, at 2 p.m. with a visitation one hour prior to the services. Bro. William Allison officiating and Lathan Funeral Home conducting. Interment at Bassett Creek Baptist Church Cemetery.
