James Wilton Fore, III, passed away peacefully on Sunday, May 24, 2026, at Jackson Medical Center. He was born on September 1, 1946, to his parents James (Red)and Gladys Bumpers Fore.
Jim was a devoted member of First United Methodist Church, where he faithfully served as the sound technician for many years. He enjoyed spending time outdoors hunting, fishing, and gardening, pursuits that brought him great joy throughout his life. Jim dedicated 48 years of service to the Alabama Department of Transportation (ALDOT), retiring as Maintenance Superintendent after a distinguished career marked by hard work, leadership, and commitment to his community. His dedication to public service extended beyond his profession, as he proudly served for more than 40 years with the Coffeeville Fire Department and also served on the Board of Directors of Clarke Washington -Electric Cooperative. Through his faith, career, and volunteer service, and love for the outdoors, Jim left a lasting impact on his community and will be remembered for his integrity, generosity, and unwavering dedication to others.
Jim is survived by the love of his life, Dottie Fore; her children, Darren Frost (Amy) and Melissa Frost McKee (John) ; grandchildren, Geoffrey McKee (Alexis), Perry McKee, Max McKee, Trevor Frost, and Tatum McKee; great-granddaughters, Kaylee McKee, Kenlee McKee, and Kimberlee McKee; his sisters, Cherry Hart, Gretchen Sudduth (Carl), Glenda Miller (Arville), and Tammy Shewmake; his sister-in-law, Sheila; and many beloved nieces and nephews.
Jim was preceded in death by his parents, James (Red) and Gladys Fore, and brother Roger Fore.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, June 20, 2026 at 11:00 a.m. at First United Methodist of Jackson with visitation an hour before.
