James "Jimmy" Outlaw

July 20, 1926 — July 31, 2022

James Riley "Jimmy" Outlaw, Jr passed away on Sunday, July 31, 2022 at the age of 96. He was born in Coy, Alabama on July 20, 1926 to James Riley, Sr. and Lillie Mayo Outlaw. He was preceded in death by his parents, his first wife of 43 years, Mary Frances Fendley Outlaw. Sisters, Echols Outlaw Emerson, Lucille Outlaw McCollom, Merle Outlaw Bozeman, Julia Outlaw Tucker, and Helen Outlaw Megginson. Half Brother, Charles Outlaw.
He is survived by his wife of 24 years, Nell Jackson Outlaw. Son, Ronnie (Lori) Outlaw. Daughters, Tena (James) McKinley, Michele (Samuel) Deas, step children, Don (Kelley) Baggett and Linda Baggett. Grandchildren, Jason Outlaw, Adam (Kendra) Outlaw, Ryan (Dusty) Smith, Austin Smith, Mary Ashlyn (Raymond) Lankford, Justin (Jessica) Trujillo, Jansen (Sarah) Deas, Forest Marthaler, Leann Cook, Jarod Billingsley, Jenna Billingsley, great grandchildren, Kennedy Outlaw, Easton Outlaw, Kenna Outlaw, Sawyer Outlaw, Canaan Outlaw, Maci Rae Smith, Nash Lankford, Hadley Trujillo, Hunter Trujillo, half sister, Ruby Cain. And numerous other family and friends.
Jimmy graduated from Pine Hill High School in 1944 and afterwards enlisted in the US Army during WWII. He later moved to Jackson and began working for Bama Auto Parts in 1952 as a bookkeeper and sales. In 1973, he became president and co-owner until his retirement. He had 3 NAPA stores in Jackson, McIntosh and Saraland. He was known as the "NAPA Man".
He was a faithful and active member of the Jackson First United Methodist Church. He had an unwavering faith in God. He will be remembered for his selflessness, honesty, kindness and giving. His family and friends were his treasures.
Memorial services will be at 11 a.m. on Friday, August 5, 2022 at Jackson First United Methodist Church with a visitation one hour prior to the service.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations made to Jackson First United Methodist Church.
