Jane Starnes Johnson, 85, of Monroeville, AL passed away at Ashland Place Health and Rehab in Mobile, AL on Monday, September 14, 2020. She was born in Whatley, AL November 16, 1934 to Louella (Coleman) and Gaston Starnes.
She was a member of St. John's Episcopal Church in Monroeville, AL.
Jane enjoyed cooking for friends and family to the extent that cooking was her mission. All of her active life she took delicious dishes weekly to the elderly, disabled, ill, grieving, and friends! She entertained often with many wonderful dinners for friends and family. Her kindness, generosity, and vivacious loving personality made her a friend to treasure. Travel, good movies, her faithful dogs, and her devoted son were an important part of her life.
She is survived by her son, John E. Willman of Snowmass Village, CO; her nephew, Gaston Williamson of Pell City and a host of friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Louella (Coleman) and Gaston Starnes; her sister, Amelia Williamson; and husband Elo Willman.
A graveside service will be conducted at 10 a.m. on Saturday, September 19, 2020 at Whatley Cemetery with the Rev. Jeffrey Jenks officiating and Lathan Funeral Home directing.
