Joe Price

Joe L. Price, 81, of Chatom, passed away on Monday, March 3, 2025, at the Washington County Nursing Home. He was born on March 25, 1943. He was preceded in death by his wife Vera Lee Price and his parents Arnett and Lucille Lathan.

Joe was a wonderful mechanic and welder. He helped many people with numerous projects. He taught mechanics at the Washington County Career & Technical School for many years. He taught other young men to weld, fix tractors, trucks, and cars. He truly loved to help people. He was known for his skill at beating you at checkers. He was an avid outdoorsman who loved hunting, fishing, and gardening.

He was faithful to call or make a quick visit just to check on you. He will be missed by his many friends.

Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. on Thursday, March 6, 2025, at Spring Bank Baptist Cemetery. Lathan Funeral Home directing.
