Julia Bell Parnell, 94, of Sunflower, AL passed away on July 21, 2024. She was born on October 27, 1929, to her parents, Halkam Glenn Williams, Sr. and Emmitt Marie Lindsay Williams.
Julia Bell was a lifelong member of Sunflower United Methodist Church where she sang in the choir for many years. She drove a school bus for twenty-five years and worked in the cafeteria until she retired. Julia Bell enjoyed crocheting and being able to spend time with her family whether it was traveling, eating or just getting together gave her great joy. She dearly loved all her grands! Elvis Presley was her favorite singer and she loved to listen to his music. She loved Elvis Presley and cried the day he died! Julia Bell was an avid Atlanta Braves fan and even more of an Alabama football fan! Roll Tide!
She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband Rufus B. Parnell, Sr.; great grandson Zack Thornton; and her siblings: Glenn Williams, Mary Blackmon, Marie Daughtery, Malone Williams, Thomas "Bud" Williams, Seldon Williams, and Clara Ann Busby.
She is survived by her children; Linda (Ronnie) Singleton, Brenda Boggs, Rusty (Burnette) Parnell, Andy (Brenda) Parnell, Bruce Parnell, Lamar Parnell, and Glenda Parnell; Her grandchildren; Dewayne Singleton, Rhonda Downey, Dana Boggs, Carey Sheffield, Barry Boggs, Jennifer Bailey, Alana Massey, Andy Parnell, Jr., Holly Morris, Bruce Keith Parnell, Brandie Parnell, Rufus Lee Parnell, Nancy Parnell, and Coby Powell, a host of great grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
