Larry Joe Jordan, age 80, of Chatom, Alabama, passed away on August 21, 2026, in Mobile, Alabama. He was born on July 23, 1946, in Liberty, Mississippi, to the late Joe M. and Ruby Whittington Jordan.
Larry will be lovingly remembered for his wonderful sence of humor, strong work ethic, and generous spirit. He was a longtime member of the Pipe liners Union, Local 798, and through his career, he had the opportunity to travel throughout the United States.
Following his retirement, Larry enjoyed traveling and treasure hunting at estate sales. He especially valued time spent with family and friends. Larry was also a faithful and active member of Chatom Church of God in Chatom, Alabama, where he enjoyed worshiping and serving alongside his church family.
Larry was preceded in death by his parents, Joe M. and Ruby Whittington Jordan; his infant sons, Michael and Carse Jordan; and his brother, Cliff Jordan Sr.
He is survived by his loving wife, Terri Byrd Jordan, his children, Samantha Jordan (Arthur) Willey, Sarah Jordan (Clint) James, Kristen Little, and Murphy (Erin) Little; his granddaughters, Beccah (Ladarius) Grice, Harper James, and Piper James; and his nephew, Cliff (Kelly) Jordan Jr. He also leaves behind extended family, friends, and his church family, all of whom will cherish the memories they shared with him.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Chatom Church of God, where Larry was a faithful supporter, or to a charity of the donor's choice that advances the Kingdom of God and shares the grace of Christ.
A memorial service celebrating Larry's life will be held at Chatom Church of God in Chatom, Alabama, on Thursday, August 27, 2026, with a visitation from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. with Pastor Naomi Brown officiating. A meal will be served in the fellowship hall immediately folowing the service.
Larry's life was a testimony to the value of hard work, the joy of laughter, the importance of family, and the blessing of faith. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him, but his memory will remain in the hearts of those whose lived he touched.
