Lary Porter

Lary Steve Porter, 73, of Grove Hill, died July 9, 2018 at his home surrounded by his loving family. He was born February 3, 1945 in Missouri to Walter Vincent and Virginia Firestone Porter. He proudly served in the United States Air Force for over twenty years before his retirement at which time he worked at ARP Security until retiring again.

Mr. Porter is preceded in death by his parents and his wife, Terisa Dianne Porter.

He is survived by son, Charles Dean (Erica B.) Porter; daughter, ReGina Porter (Rance Henry Jr) Carr; grandchildren, Kaylie Lyn Porter, Coner Dean Porter, and Melody Dianna Carr; sisters, Judy McNutt and Shirley Porter; as well as numerous other relatives and friends.

Services will be held at Union Baptist Church on Wednesday, July 11, 2018. Visitation will be from 1:00 pm until the service begins at 3:00 pm with Rev. William "Bill" Allison officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery with Lathan Funeral Home directing.

Pallbearers will be Thomas Bradford, Michael Gates, Matthew Bradley, Chris Carr, Tim Mixon, and Johnny House. Honorary pallbearers will be Rodney Hancock, Donnie Ward, Charles Gates, Albert Nettles, Butch Barnes, and Ray Clark.
