Lois Bennett

Lois R. Bennett, 86, of Grove Hill, passed away September 30, 2018 at Azalea Gardens Nursing Home in Mobile. She was born May 21, 1932 to Raymond Dumas and Ada Bell Duke Dumas. A member of Union Baptist Church in Grove Hill, she enjoyed preparing the church bulletin, quilting and cooking for her family.
She was preceded in death by her parents and siblings, Roy Dumas, E.P. Dumas, Ellis Dumas and Nell Rhea Kelley.
She is survived by her husband, Jerry Harlon Bennett; daughters, Delila (J.A.) Gibson, Lisa (Christopher E. Gates) Bennett, grandchildren, Angie (Chris Todd) Gibson, Shane (Alison) Gibson, Nikki (Dre Kennedy) Bennett, Jasmine (Terry Kiker) Denton; great-grandchildren, McKenzie Gibson, Trevor Gibson; sister, Voncille Phillips and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, October 3, 2018 at Union Baptist Church with the Rev. Howard Gaston officiating. Visitation will begin one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow in the church cemetery with Lathan Funeral Home directing.
Pallbearers will be Shane Gibson, Trevor Gibson, Dre Kennedy, Steve Kelley, Royce Kelley, Scott Bennett and Terry Kiker.
