Michael Reid

Michael Darren Reid, 50, of Jackson, passed away Thursday, May 14, 2020 in Grove Hill. He was born in Jackson on October 6, 1969 to Lamar and Ann Brown Reid. A truck driver with Billy Barnes trucking for almost 18 years, he enjoyed restoring older vehicles and Alabama football. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Jackson.

He is survived by his parents; son, Dalton Reid; brother, Jim (Debbie) Reid; nephew, Ethan (Lara) Reid; niece, Anna (Ryan) Challacombe and numerous other relatives and friends.

A graveside service will be conducted at 10 a.m. on Monday, May 18, 2020 at Trinity Memorial Gardens in Jackson with Dr. Ben Stubblefield officiating and Lathan Funeral Home directing. Visitation will be Sunday, May 17, 2020 at Lathan Funeral Home in Jackson from 5-7 p.m.

Pallbearers will be Clint O’Guynn, Marlin O’Guynn, Ethan Reid, Jim Reid, Randy Reid and Kenny Smith.

Roger Moberg will be an honorary pallbearer.

In lieu of flowers, it is requested that donations in his memory be made to Pilots for Christ, P.O. Box 707, Monroeville, AL 36461.
