Myrtie Fountain

Myrtie Coate Fountain, 88, of Mobile, passed away Thursday, June 20, 2019 at Gulf Coast Health and Rehab. She was born March 28, 1931 to George “Buster” Coate and Onie White Coate in Coffeeville. An avid fan of Alabama football, she also enjoyed decorating homes which she frequently did for family and friends. She had retired as a retail associate with Gayfers in Mobile and had worked at one time at Vanity Fair in Jackson.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Ronnie J. Fountain and siblings, Cecil Coate, Robert Coate, George Coate, James Coate, Benny Coate and Effie Byrd.

She is survived by her son, Richard (Donna) Fountain; granddaughter, Letara Fountain; siblings, Jeanette Williamson, Anna Townsend, Judy Deas; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. on Saturday, June 22, 2019 at Lathan Funeral Home in Jackson with Chris Hicks officiating. Visitation will begin one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow the service at Coffeeville Town Cemetery with Lathan Funeral Home directing.

Pallbearers will be Darren Williamson, Chris Hicks, Richard Fountain, Heath Williamson, Matthew Williamson and Troy Ellis.
