Oveta Pierce

Oveta Marie Pierce, 57, of Daphne, passed away Tuesday, April 14, 2020 at her residence surrounded by family. She was born March 19, 1963 in Jackson. A member of 3 Circle Church in Daphne, she had previously been employed as a licensed practical nurse at Grove Hill Memorial Hospital. She enjoyed all types of crafts, especially furniture restoration and flower gardening.

She was preceded in death by her father, Harvey Anthony “Tony” Pierce.

She is survived by her mother, Merilyn Pierce; brother, Stephen (Torrie) Pierce; nieces and nephew, Makenna Pierce, Karsen Pierce, Kaden Pierce, Rayla Pierce and numerous other relatives and friends.

A graveside service will be conducted at 2 p.m. on Thursday, April 16, 2020 at Trinity Memorial Gardens in Jackson with the Rev. Billy Cardwell officiating and Lathan Funeral Home directing

Pallbearers will be David Eckstein, Mark Newsom, Bo Newson, David Cumlander, Johnny Lahman and Rayford White.

In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to Southern Cancer Center, 29653 Anchor Cross Blvd., Daphne, AL 36526.
