Patricia Roney

Patricia Lankford Roney, 74, of Wagarville, passed away Saturday, July 3, 2021 at her residence. She was born in Wagarville on September 28, 1946 to Henry Lankford and Lola Crager Lankford. A member of Leroy Baptist Church, she had worked as hairdresser for many years and then was employed at CAM Corporation and then as an agent with Liberty National Life Insurance. She was an avid fan of The University of Alabama football program. She was an excellent cook and authored a cookbook with many of her favorite recipes. She also enjoyed writing poetry and spending time with her family.
She was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Ginny Lankford and grandson, Clay Carpenter.
She is survived by her children, Jimmy (Tracey) Roney, Hope (Andy) Keith, Amy Mims; grandchildren, Hank Roney, Jon Hunter Roney, Raechel (Calvin) Bosarge, Taylor (Katherine) Carpenter, Logan (Allie) Keith, Maygan (Corey) Rider, Brady Keith, Savanah Shirley, Loran Powell; great-grandchildren, Tripp Bosarge, Briar and Audra Keith, Sadie Rider, Zailee Shirley, Beckham Shirley, CJ Powell, Finley Powell and numerous other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, July 7, 2021 at The First Baptist Church of Leroy with the Rev. Dave Delegal officiating. Visitation will begin one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow the service at Wagarville Baptist Cemetery with Lathan Funeral Home directing.
Pallbearers will be Sam Burford, Taylor Carpenter, Tommy Keith, Marty Loper, Jamie Mauldin, Bo Roney, O'Neal Roney and Randy Smith.
Honorary pallbearers will be the Adult III Sunday School Class at First Baptist Church of Leroy and Leroy High School Class of 1964.
