Raymond Parnell

Raymond Parnell, 74, a lifelong resident of Tibbie, died March 23, 2023 with his loved ones by his side. Raymond was born January 15, 1949 to Earl and Juanita Parnell. Saying Raymond was an avid hunter seems highly insufficient; he was passionate about dog-hunting and thoroughly enjoyed deer and turkey hunting. He also took pleasure in a leisurely day of fishing or in watching his beloved University of Alabama football team especially with friends or loved ones.
Raymond is preceded in death by his father, Earl Parnell; mother, Juanita Godwin Parnell; brother William Earl Parnell; grandson, Chad Parnell; 2 granddaughters, Kristen Dunn and Krissi Dunn.
He is survived by his wife, Charlene Parnell; son, Ray Parnell (LaMenda); daughter, Angie Parmer (Jason); daughter, Debbie Parnell (Keith Brown); stepson, Tommy Dumas; stepdaughter, Kelly Dumas; stepdaughter, Christy Dumas; grandchildren, Derrick Dearmon, Dillon Dearmon, Lacee Parnell, Ariyanna Hollingsworth, Cole Parmer, Danielle Coxwell, Carley Reddit, Ethan Dumas, Tiffany Parnell and Hayli Parnell; 3 great grandchildren; brothers, Rayford Parnell and Rex Parnell (Rose); sisters, Ann Gibson, Audery Hankins (Bert), Flora Reed and Claudia Devaughn (George);a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Visitation will be held Wednesday, March 29, 2023 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Lathan Funeral Home, Chatom. Funeral Service will be held Thursday, March 30, 2023 at the funeral home at 11:00 a.m. with Bro. Ernest Tucker officiating. Interment will follow in Fairhope Baptist Cemetery with Lathan Funeral Home directing.
Active pallbearers will be Paul Parnell, Taylor Parnell, Erick Parnell, Winston Tarver, Scott Hankins, and Jamie Ramey. Honorary pallbearers will be Jay Chestnut, Josh Chestnut, Ethan Dumas, Authur Devaughn and Joey Reddit.
