Rebecca Johnson

Rebecca Leigh Johnson, 70, of Millry, passed away Thursday, July 14, 2022, at her residence. She was born in Washington County on Tuesday, November 6, 1951. She retired after 35 years of service to Washington County Hospital as the medical records supervisor and a licensed practical nurse. She enjoyed reading, beautiful flowers and sitting on the porch watching hummingbirds. She supported many charitable organizations.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Gay W. Johnson, Annie W. Johnson and siblings, George W. Johnson, Walter Harold "Bill" Johnson. Gay Elton Johnson, Joseph Franklin "Joe" Johnson, David Johnson, Robert Glenn Johnson, Donnie Johnson, Juanita Johnson and Naomi Lundy.
She is survived by her children, Tonya (Donald W.) Hartley, Harold L. "Hal" (Krissi) Carpenter, Jr.; grandchildren, Jared (Anna) Alday, Jenafer (Gabby) Alday, Alec (Callie) Carpenter, Hallie Carpenter, Laney Carpenter, Grant Carpenter, Chesney Looney, Genna Bloodsworth; siblings, Helen McIntyre, Carolyn Jackson, numerous nieces and nephews who were very special to her and numerous other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. on Saturday, July 16, 2022, at Lathan Funeral Home in Chatom with the Rev. Larry Turner officiating. Visitation will begin one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow the service at Kimbrough Cemetery in Millry with Lathan Funeral Home directing.
Pallbearers will be Scott Blankenchip, Brailan Bair, Randall Jackson, Dennis Johnson, Kent Johnson and Dexter Oates.
Honorary pallbearers will be Bobbie Cranford, Betty Johnson, Wayne Johnson and Bonnie Strickland
