Ronald Rivers

Rev. Ronald Kenneth Rivers was born September 5, 1948 to the late Floyd and Iris Rivers in Mobile. Ronald attended schools in Mobile County and graduated from Murphy High School. He started serving God at the young age of thirteen. He was a licensed minister with United Pentecostal Church International for over 50 years. He received a Bachelor of Theology from Jackson College of Ministries in Jackson, MS in 1975 prior to serving as assistant pastor to several ministries and later began pastoring in Jackson on August 15, 1980. Ronald pastored First Pentecostal Church in Jackson for 32 years. Ronald loved to study God’s word. He was very knowledgeable in the scripture.

Ronald is predeceased by his parents, siblings, Floyd Rivers, Jr. and Kathryn Rivers Singleton.

He is survived by his loving wife of 48 years, Argie M. Rivers, sons, Kenneth (Sara) Rivers and Korey (Tiffany) Rivers, daughter, Kara (Daniel) Capers, grandsons, Landon Capers and Jack Doggett, granddaughters, Lizzie Doggett and Emmie Doggett, siblings Lester M (Darlene) Rivers and Edward Lange Rivers as well as numerous other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, August 8, 2020 at Lathan Funeral Home at 3:30 pm. Visitation will begin one-hour prior. Interment will follow in Trinity Memorial Gardens with Lathan Funeral Home directing.
