Rosalee Howard

Rosalee Gardner Howard, 84, of Bay Minette, passed away Wednesday, July 3, 2019 at her residence surrounded by family. She was born May 2, 1935 to Claude and Mary Ellen Gardner in Washington County. She was an excellent cook and enjoyed preparing meals for her family. She was also a master gardener, excelling in raising flowers of all kinds. She is described by her family as a giving, loving mother and grandmother.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Charles “Billy” Howard; and siblings, Woodrow Gardner, Claude Junior Gardner, John Gardner, Peter Sterling Gardner, Calvin Gardner, Joe Carroll Gardner, Bert Gardner, Lenn Gardner, Chuck Gardner, Mary Webb, Esther Smith, Annabelle Gardner and Elsie Gardner.

She is survived by her children, Connie Ryland, John (Sandra) Havard, Jr., Randy (Judy) Havard, James (Cynthia) Havard, Ava Claudette (Joe Tingle) Havard, Mary Allen, Charles Havard, Roxie (Richard) Thompson; step-sons, John Henry Havard, Lamar Havard; sister, Betty (Billy) Jordan; 34 grandchildren, 49 great-grandchildren, 9 great, great-grandchildren and numerous other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. on Saturday, July 6, 2019 at Lathan Funeral Home in Chatom with David Gardner officiating. Visitation will begin at 9:30 a.m. and continue until the service begins. Interment will follow the service at the Gardner Family Cemetery in Tibbie with Lathan Funeral Home directing.
