Roxie Brown Swiney

December 21, 1965 — April 22, 2026

Roxie Brown Swiney, age 60, passed away peacefully on April 22, 2026. She was born on December 21, 1965, and lived a life defined by kindness, love, and a deep devotion to her family.

Roxie was known by all who loved her as a warm and caring soul. She had a special way of making people feel remembered and cherished, never missing an opportunity to wish her family and friends a happy birthday. Holidays were especially dear to her heart, and she took great joy in making those moments meaningful and memorable for the ones she loved.

She was a passionate fan of Alabama football and could often be found cheering on her team with enthusiasm. Music was another great love in Roxie's life. She found joy both in listening and creating, and she was talented in playing the trumpet and piano, gifts that brought happiness not only to herself but to those around her.

Roxie also had a special place in her heart for animals, especially dogs. She had a particular love for her special companions, Dino and then Hooch, who were both Dachshunds, which brought her great joy.

Above all, Roxie treasured her family. Her love for them was constant and unwavering, and it showed in everything she did.

She is survived by her son, James Christopher Swiney of Tuscaloosa; mother Frances (Moss) Brown of Chatom; father, James Wayne (Susan) Brown of Tibbie; brother Raleigh (Nikki) Brown of Chatom; step-brother Cade (Misty) Parnell of Tibbie; and her cherished nieces and nephews, all of whom will carry her memory in their hearts.

A memorial service will be held at 4:00 p.m. on April 26, 2026, at Chatom Church of God with a visitation from 3:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. Pastor Naomi Brown will be officiating.
