Reverend Russell 'Rusty' Forrest Fulford, 72, of Jackson, Alabama passed away on July 11, 2025, at Mobile Infirmary after a short illness. Rusty was born on August 31, 1952, in Enterprise, Alabama, to parents Charles Taze and Nell M. Fulford, of Hartford, Alabama. Rusty was a native of Hartford, Alabama where he began his formal education. He attended Troy State University for undergraduate studies and completed his formal education obtaining a Masters degree from the Chandler school of Theology at Emory University in 1982. Rusty retired after serving as pastor and friend to many members of United Methodist Churches across the South Alabama and Northwest Florida district of United Methodist churches. His friendly and quiet manner was a trademark of Rusty. He truly served as a gentleman in The Army of Christ.
He is preceded in death by his parents, his beloved wife Reverend Molly Estes Fulford, and his sister-in-law Mary Ann Fulford.
Survived by his wife Judy Rivers Fulford, brothers Taze (Donna) Fulford, Mack Fulford, Winton (Freida) Fulford, niece Amanda Fulford, nephews Taze III, Wayland, and Josh Fulford, and grandchildren; Noah, Eli, Simon, and Sara Rivers.
The family wishes to extend our sincere appreciation and thanks to each and all the helpers who assisted Rusty during his declining years. Thank you to each employee of Mobile Infirmary who so carefully tended to Rusty.

Funeral Services will be at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, July 15, 2025, at Lathan Funeral Home in Jackson, with a visitation one hour prior to services. Rev. Tommy Gillard officiating. Interment will be on Wednesday, July 16, 2025, at Pine View Memorial Gardens in Wetumpka, Alabama.
