Samuel Finney

January 3, 1965 — February 28, 2019

Samuel Lee Finney, 54, of Jackson, passed away February 28, 2019 at his residence. He was born January 3, 1965 to Samuel and Shirley Finney in Jackson. The assistant chief with the Winn Volunteer Fire Dept, he was also a certified NRA pistol instructor and enjoyed shooting competitions, hunting and fishing. An employee at BASF, he was also a member of the U.S. Practical Shooting Association and attended church at the First Assembly of God Church in Jackson.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Shirley Nall Finney.

He is survived by his wife, Staci Bailey Finney; children, Rachel Leigh Finney, Richard Evin Finney, Randall James Finney; father, Samuel (Virginia) Finney and numerous other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. on Monday, March 4, 2019 at Jackson First Assembly of God with the Revs. Fred Odom and Kevin Lewis officiating. Visitation will begin at 9 a.m. Interment will follow the service at Wesley Chapel UMC Cemetery in the Winn community with Lathan Funeral Home directing.

Pallbearers will be members of the Winn Volunteer Fire Department.
