Stacey Horton

Stacey Dannette Horton, 55, of Jackson, passed away on August 21, 2021, she was born June 21, 1966 to Royce and Lucretia Brunson Horton in Grove Hill, AL. Stacey never let her disability hinder her from doing what she wanted, she enjoyed her church and singing with her father, where they had quite a following. Stacey was involved with Easterseals Alabama, and was the 1972 poster child for them. She touched so many people, and always made new friends wherever she went. The times she spent with her family will be cherished, watching Alabama football, cross stitching, and a little friendly bantering.

Stacey is preceded in death by her father, Royce Horton; grandparents, Purvis Horton, Mary Ellen Horton, Abel Brunson and Ruby Brunson; uncles, Hollis Brunson and Lamar Brunson and aunts, Earline (Doc) Griffen, Lucille (Bernis) Johnson, and Nettie (Jake) Nobles.

She is survived by her mother, Lucretia Brunson Horton; brother, Stuart (Sharon) Horton; nieces, Corwren Horton Dunnam and Lindsey Smith; great Nephews and niece, Cannan Dunnam, Kirby Peters and Bryson Peters; aunts, Dean Daniel, Betty Willemoes, Katherine "Te-Tia" Brunson and Jeanette "Nette-Nette" Brunson; special friend, Christie Wilson Outlaw as well as numerous other relatives and friends.

Active pallbearers will be Kevin Simmons, Maury Bryant, Lee Kearley, Otis Bumpers, Bill Gibson and Keith Harrell. Honorary pallbearers will be Amanda Bumpers, Nettie Hunt, Brenda Shaper, Chanda Dennis, Lathesia Hunt, Julia Pugh and Rev. Percy Clarke.

Funeral Services will be Tuesday, August 24, 2021 at 11 a.m. at Antioch Baptist Church. Visitation will start at 10 a.m. Bros. Danny Chancey and Benny Harrison officiating with Lathan Funeral Home directing.
