Terry Hooper

Terry Earl Hooper, beloved husband, father, brother, grandfather, uncle, and friend, of Coffeeville passed away Thursday, December 18, 2026 at the age of 69.

Born on November 21, 1956 to William Earl Hooper and Bobbie Lou Northcutt Hooper, Terry was a brother to Vikki, Bonnie, and Greg. He married Diane Hodge on June 10, 1980 and together they built a life in Coffeeville with their son, Neil.

Terry was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed fishing and hunting, but his favorite pastime was racing. He especially enjoyed the legendary "Alabama Gang." He drove a school bus that he modified and parked it in the infield at Talladega countless times making memories with as many friends and family that he could pack in. Terry not only enjoyed watching racing, he enjoyed participating in it in whatever type of vehicle he could -from go-carts to mud-racing trucks to vintage and late model cars.

Terry had a long career at Clarke-Washington EMC where he made many friends. However, his greatest joy was his family. He enjoyed much laughter with his wife, his son and daughter-in-law and his three granddaughters who adored him. They were his personal pack of TNT-Triston, Nova, and Tynslee.

Terry loved southern gospel music, tinkering in his shop, and taking things apart to fix them and make them work better. He had a quick wit and a sharp mind, but at the end of the day, he was in his recliner watching television beside his wife with his dog, Holly in his lap.

Terry is survived by his wife of 45 years, Diane Hodge Hooper; son Neil and daughter in law, Melodye, and granddaughters, Triston Noel, Nova Rayne, and Tynslee Skye; and sister, Vikki (Randy) Hannah, brother-in-law, Wendell (Candace) Hodge, many nieces, nephews, and countless friends.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Billy and Bobbie Lou Hooper, siblings Bonnie Hooper and Greg Hooper.

Services will be held on Monday, December 29 at Ulcanush Baptist Church. Visitation will be held from 12 PM until service time at 1 PM with interment at Ulcanush Baptist Cemetery.

Active pallbearers are Dwight Pugh, Bobby Pritchard, Seaborn Hicks, David Harvey, Russell Harvey, and Rayford White.
