Tommie Knapp

Tommie Irene Knapp, 71, of Saraland, passed away Tuesday, June 16, 2020 at her residence. She was born in Hawthorn on November 24, 1948 to Lewis and Irene Parnell. She retired as a credit representative and customer service agent with J&J Furniture. She enjoyed professional and college football and baseball, crossword puzzles and watching television. Her greatest joy, however, was spending time with her family, especially her beloved grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Stanley Knapp and siblings, Billy Parnell, Mary Alice Gilchrist and Ann Williams

She is survived by her son, Jason (Shellanna) Knapp; grandchildren, Kirstin Knapp, Tyler Knapp; siblings, Steve Parnell, Betty Daniels, Sandra Hughes and numerous other relatives and friends.

A graveside service will be conducted at 10 a.m. on Friday, June 19, 2020 at Bethel United Methodist Cemetery with the Rev. Woodie Baughn officiating and Lathan Funeral Home directing. Visitation inside the church will begin 30 minutes prior to the service.
