Troy Dale Hayes

Troy Dale Hayes, of Winn, Alabama, passed away peacefully on May 13, 2026. He was born on June 18, 1948, to George Lawrence Hayes, Jr. and Juanita Guy Hayes Tarver.

He shared over 54 years of marriage with his beloved wife, Martha Jo Bumpers Hayes, who preceded him in death in 2022.

Troy grew up in St. Stephens, Alabama, and attended Leroy High School. He was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed fishing and hunting and spent much of his life appreciating the outdoors and time with family and friends.

He is survived by his daughter, Stacey (Jay) Chason; granddaughter, Jamie (Geoffrey) Poulin; great-granddaughters, Lucy Jo and Grace Marie Poulin; brother, Caron (Betty) Hayes; sisters, Patsy Daugherty and Gwenolia Smith; along with many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends who will cherish his memory.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Otis Hayes; and sister, Vivan Ann Hayes.

Pallbearers will be David Padgett, Jeff Chason, Brad Thornton, Tony Tarver, Britt Bumpers, Wesley Bumpers, Tony Williams, Terry Williams, and Scott Reed.

Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, May 18, 2026, at Winn Community Cemetery with Reverend Jimmy Butts officiating and Lathan Funeral Home directing.
