James Kevan Tucker, 52, of Grove Hill died Friday, September 16, 2022 in Mobile. Kevan was born February 18, 1970 to James Pettus and Mary Ellen Tucker in Fayette. He loved outdoor activities; from hunting in his younger years, boating and fishing any chance he had to raising cattle and gardening. The type of man who could never sit still, Kevan was "diagnosed" by his family as being very hyperactive. Kevan served the citizens of Alabama for 29 years through the Alabama Cooperative Extension System most recently as the Auburn University Clarke County Extension Coordinatior. Over the course of his career he was instrumental in many 4-H livestock programs such as Chick Chain, Pig Squeal and Dairy Heifer programs. Kevan also served as the coordinator of the HerdBuilder Replacement Heifer Sales since 2005 and was heavily involved in several economic development projects in Clarke County.
Kevan was a member of several organizations including the Alabama BCIA (Beef Cattle Improvement Association), Alabama Cattlemens Association, Clarke County Cattlemens Association, Clarke County Farmers Federation, Alabama Farmers Federation, Alabama 4-H, and AACAAS (Alabama Association of County AG Agents and Specialists).
Kevan is survived by his daughter Jessie Tucker (William Fuller); mother, Mary Ellen Tucker; sister, Karan Ellen Tucker; uncle, Ralph Thomas Smith; special little buddy, Tre Etheredge as well as several other relatives and friends.
