Maudie Lee Loper Goldman entered her eternal home on December 16, 2021, at 93 years old. She was born on the 24th of February, 1928, in Yarbo, Alabama to parents Henry and Pearlie Scott Harvison. She remained a resident of Yarbo for all of her life and was a faithful member of Reynolds Holiness Church. A devoted wife and family woman, Maudie would prepare meals at the crack of dawn for her husband and family, but still made sure to make it to the Lord's House every Sunday. She cared deeply for her family and looked forward to those meals weekly to see them. An example of her character to remember her by was her love to give to others and never expecting anything in return.
Maudie was a hard worker. She devoted many years of her life as a seamstress at Millry Manufacturing, and later on at CAM. After retiring, she joined alongside her now-late-husband, Frank Goldman at their at-home bait shop. She was a loving mother and grandmother, but also an exceptional cook, with love for making homemade chicken & dumplings. Her greatest joy was discussing her grandchildren, because she was proud of every single one of them.
She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, five siblings, and three children: Shirley Loper (Joe) Dearmon, Linda Loper (Butch) Dungan, and Johnny Ray Loper.
Maudie is survived by her children; Barbara Loper (Tracy) Reynolds, Debra Loper (Johnny) Dungan, Geneva Goldman (Leslie) Brown, and James (Kathy) Goldman. She was known as "Gran" to many grandchildren; Robert, Tommy, and Billy Dearmon; Kim Malone and Danielle Dennis; Jeremy and Ray Dungan, and Rebecca Stallings; Lamar Dungan and Angela Alford; Timothy Brown and Tabitha Kanute; Lance and Damon Goldman, and Brandi Hoover; seventeen great-grandchildren and nine great-great-grandchildren.
Graveside services will be on Sunday, December 19, 2021 at 2 p.m. at Reynolds Holiness Church Cemetery with Rev. Troy Bailey and Rev. J.J. West officiating and Lathan Funeral Home directing.
Pallbearers will be Robert Dearmon, Tommy Dearmon, Billy Dearmon, Larmar Dungan, Jeremy Dungan, Ray Dungan. Honorary pallbearers are Leslie Brown, Timothy Brown, and James Davis.
