Sarah Lou Jones Smith, 85, of Jackson, passed away Wednesday, June 17, 2020 at her residence surrounded by family. She was born in Crystal, Indiana on September 7, 1934 to Perry and Iva Jones. She had been employed as a seamstress and clerk with local dry-cleaning establishments. She was a member of the Old South Antique Car Club and attended Forest Avenue Baptist Church in Jackson.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Robert Arthur Smith, Sr; grandson, Daniel Holley and siblings, Ezra Jones, Lois Emmons, Ernie Jones, Vernon Jones, Dale Jones, Clyde Jones, Oscar Jones and Marie Wesner.
She is survived by her children, Steve (Kelly) Smith, Belinda (Phillip) Holley, Bobby (Sharon) Smith, Tommy (Vicki) Smith, Kenny Smith; seven grandchildren, four great-grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, June 23, 2020 at Lathan Funeral Home in Jackson with the Rev. Danny Chancey officiating. Visitation will begin at 9:30 a.m. Interment will follow the service at Trinity Memorial Gardens with Lathan Funeral Home directing.
Pallbearers will be Roger Dean, Dale Franklin, Kevin Holley, Jimmy Neese, Tom Shipley and Benny Turberville.
Honorary pallbearers will be My Indiana Jones Family, Mayor Paul South and members of Old South Antique Car Club.
